ZenPro "U" Mod for the Neumann TLM 67 Now Shipping
Posted by Warren Dent on Apr 06, 2015
We have always found the Neumann TLM67 to be a great mic, very all purpose but having the kind of response you expect from an original U67 with a smooth presence, rich midrange and a bass response that doesn't blow up in close proximity. It's not a tube mic, but Neumann did a great job capturing much of the soul of a 67 with this phantom powered TLM mic. The crazy part is that most people find the dark grey body with Georg Neumann's head on a badge on it kind of...well...ugly.
What we do is swap out the body with a new Neumann U67 replacement body, sporting a new original black badge, and we also swap out the XLR connectors on the 25' XLR cable with "vintage style" Switchcrafts, to give you a mic that is as close to a dead ringer for a new 67 as possible!
The package includes everything you get from the Set Z (wooden case, shock mount and windscreen) plus these upgraded appearance mods.
