Amazing Control, Amazing Tone, Amazingly Simple

Drawmer's newly released MQ-1 and MQ-2 (stereo) 500 series equalizer compressors are now in stock at ZenPro Audio. Despite having all the sex appeal of a 1980s dbx unit...these modules have tone for days and exhibit a great amount of control that is easy to dial in.

The seven band EQ is very straight forward, inspired by the classic Motown unit of the 1960s not only is it easy to work with but it has the SOUND you seek. It sounds like your favorite old school records. We're not 100% sure how Drawmer did that, but the MQ delivers even from this compact 500 series format. Crush mode is subtle, it was easier to hear on more complex sources like our mix buss file in the Clipalator's Equalizer folder.

The one knob compressor is glorious, and requires virtually zero setup time. It's easy to find that threshold and keep a session moving, to keep a vocal or bass guitar from jumping out of the speakers while tracking (or mixing). It's forgiving yet accurate. I could see the MQ-1 easily becoming a vocal tracking staple not only for the full EQ but that compressor alone. It's not going to destroy a take or go overboard, it's very even handed.
